Hi Kathey,

I own a Lutino Cockatiel and the only info I have to share with you is that when I went to pick him out, I saw the parents (both were Lutino) and all of the nest mates I had to choose from were all Lutinos . The only reason that I know of that you wouldn't have surviving chicks would be if the pair you are breeding were nest mates --"brother and sister". I have a pair of lovebirds that are a bonded pair, but are related, and was told that any eggs they produce should be taken away as they would not even hatch. I hope this helps-- good luck!

Sincerely,

Seneca

THANKS AGAIN,

Hi ladies. Well I just wanted you to be aware, that just because you are breeding two beautiful birds (such as love birds of different colors), doesnt mean that you will get beautiful birds. lol I tried that. Sometimes only one is nice and the rest are very common. I dont mind though. I love them all. I also had a case where I sold two birds who were brother and sister to a lady and after a year, they mated and she hand raised the babies and I have one of those because I was interested in seeing how inbreeding would affect them. I dont see anything wrong with my bird??? As a matter of fact, its the nicest one I have. I wouldnt make this a steady thing though, as inbreeding does weaken the line and problems are bound to happen but all of the babies did survive and they looked great!!! Emc...
